About The Position

We have an immediate opening for a Micro Lab Specialist on 2nd shift (3PM-11PM, M-F) at our Port Washington, WI location. The Micro Lab Specialist takes environmental and water samples as required. Performs microbial analysis of water, raw materials, and finished products. Records data in log books. Completes finished product release forms. Performs partial characterization tests on microorganisms. Maintains microbial stock cultures.

Requirements

  • Requires an associate degree with a strong emphasis in biological science. Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals and customer specifications.
  • Ability to accurately document results of lab tests.
  • Must have excellent communication skills (written and verbal) to write reports and findings and present to all levels of management in a clear and concise manner.
  • Ability to calculate simple math problems and compute rate, ratio, and percent.
  • PC proficiency to include Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Sharepoint, etc.) as well as experience Google Suite and Outlook.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in Quality Assurance or Quality Control is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform microbial analysis of water, environmental, raw materials, and finished product.
  • Enter implementation of test and test results in logbooks and data release forms.
  • Perform quality control checks on microbiological media.
  • Perform partial characterization tests on microbial isolates.
  • Maintain microbial stock culture collection.
  • Execute environmental monitoring tests, including swabbing and facility air monitoring.
  • Perform housekeeping duties in the laboratory.
  • Other tasks as assigned by Management.
