About the position

The Servo Motor Technician Level 1 position at Paragon Technologies involves hands-on work with electric motors, focusing on testing, repair, and re-manufacturing of AC, DC, and servo motors. The role requires basic knowledge of motor construction and functionality, as well as the ability to utilize specialized test equipment and tools to ensure motors are functioning correctly. This position also includes responsibilities for documentation and communication with sales representatives regarding customer concerns.

Responsibilities

• Complete 1-2 years of workplace training in electric motors and feedback.
• Utilize Mitchell test equipment to test and align feedback devices such as encoders and resolvers.
• Disassemble and reassemble AC, DC, and servo motors with assistance.
• Clean, prep, and paint motors using wash tanks, bake oven, and paint booth.
• Use drills, grinders, torque wrenches, torches, and pneumatic tools effectively.
• Accurately complete quotes, service reports, and file paperwork.
• Store motors properly during the repair process and keep parts organized for subcontracted work.
• Communicate with inside sales representatives regarding customer concerns or questions about motors in for repair.
• Use a computer to complete quotes, look up parts, and check job status.
• Provide training to Servo Motor Prep and Servo Motor Teardown personnel.

Requirements

• 1-2 years of workplace training in electric motors and feedback.
• Basic knowledge of AC, DC, and servo motor construction and functionality.
• Ability to utilize Mitchell test equipment for testing and aligning feedback devices.
• Skills in disassembling and reassembling AC, DC, and servo motors with assistance.
• Understanding of cleaning, prepping, and painting motors using appropriate equipment.
• Proficiency in using drills, grinders, torque wrenches, torches, and pneumatic tools.
• Ability to accurately complete quotes and service reports.
