The physician is expected to exercise the highest level of expertise in order to optimize quality of care. This role involves providing medical expertise and oversight of care that is being provided through the Memorial Hermann Healthcare System. The physician will direct patient care throughout the healthcare system via consult orders and provide consultation services in collaboration with attending or primary care providers. Effective communication with the attending physician, nurse, family, and other treatment team members is essential to obtain the appropriate patient care plan. The physician will also comply with best practices and other care directives, following performance improvement initiatives, and work with Memorial Hermann Physicians, Risk Managers, and Case Managers towards resolution of clinical, administrative, or technical problems. Maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to MH compliance privacy policies is a critical aspect of this position.
