The Mental Health Emergency Assessment and Response Team (MHEART) Clinician is responsible for delivering rapid mental health crisis assessment and intervention as a core partner in the University’s mobile co-responder program. Working alongside campus police, the clinician leads after-hours responses to mental health emergencies, provides immediate support to students in crisis or impacted by crime, and ensures timely evaluation, stabilization, and referral. While administratively housed within the Counseling Center, the MHEART Clinician collaborates closely with the University of Maryland Police Department and serves as a first responder both on and off campus. The role includes a combination of in-person and on-call coverage, requiring the ability to report to campus quickly, and contributes to one of the nation’s first university-based mobile crisis response models. Physical Demands: Standard office work.
