Job Summary: Directly works with suppliers and vendors regarding inventory management and third-party repairs. Oversees material handling equipment (MHE) inventory, purchasing processes, and places orders as needed to replenish stock. Leads MHE team and assigns work tasks to partners. SCOPE OF WORK Displays a list of typical duties and accountabilities. List is not based on order of priority.

Requirements

  • Advanced knowledge of material handling equipment and repairs required.
  • Advanced knowledge of inventory management processes required.
  • Advanced knowledge of electrical troubleshooting procedures required.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • Intermediate mathematical skills.
  • Intermediate knowledge of SAP reporting and transactional applications.
  • Ability to occasionally travel to off-site and out-of-town locations.
  • Ability to work on-call and flexible schedules including nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to comprehend and interpret information.
  • Ability to prepare reports and business correspondence.
  • Ability to research information, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to learn new technology systems, methods and processes.
  • Ability to reason, form concepts and recognize and solve problems.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal form.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive information.
  • Ability to use knives/box cutters.
  • Ability to operate heavy machinery/ hazardous equipment.
  • Ability to operate a forklift/pallet jack.
  • Ability to use precision hand tools.
  • May be required to drive in accordance with the BGC Driver policy.
  • Must be attentive to potential hazards and remedy or place appropriate warning signs or devices around or near the hazard as soon as is reasonably possible.
  • Must report any potential hazards that cannot be immediately remedied to a supervisor.
  • High School Diploma or GED required and three or more years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of experience and/or higher education required.
  • Minimum of 18 years of age required.
  • Partners must be 21 years of age or older to drive for Company business in accordance with the BGC Business Driver Policy.

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of vocational or technical school preferred.
  • Associate degree in related field preferred.
  • Material handling equipment training preferred.
  • OSHA 10 Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities including interviewing, hiring, training and developing partners; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Works in conjunction with upper management to determine pay and budget for department.
  • Oversees material handling equipment workflow, repairs, and maintenance team.
  • Works closely with third parties to ensure repairs are completed in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Maintains material handling spare part inventories.
  • Monitors repair documentation and preventative maintenance work order processes (internally and for third parties).
  • Documents and tracks material handling equipment assets and usage.
  • Assists with other maintenance related tasks as assigned.
