About The Position

Amazon is seeking a Mechanical Integration Lead to drive the successful installation, integration, and deployment of automation and material handling systems across multiple facilities. This role provides mechanical engineering expertise in complex automation environments, ensuring projects meet Amazon’s safety, timeline, cost, and quality standards. The Mechanical Integration Lead will collaborate across engineering, supply chain, and operations to implement scalable solutions, resolve technical issues, and deliver high-impact results across large, multi-site programs. A day in the life As a Operations Engineer II, you will serve as a technical expert in the integration and deployment of automation and material handling solutions. This role requires strong technical expertise and the ability to collaborate across organizations to drive implementations and improvements across multiple sites.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) field
  • 5+ years of manufacturing, process, industrial engineering experience
  • 3+ years of integration, testing and automation experience
  • Experience with AutoCAD and/or Building Information Modeling (BIM), as well as scheduling software (Primavera, MS Project, or similar)
  • Experience in technical support, or experience that includes strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities
  • Experience delivering technical projects in construction environments
  • Ability to travel up to 50% domestically

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in engineering, management, or technology
  • 7+ years of operations management experience
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Experience of automated equipment including packaging machinery, sortation and conveyor systems
  • Experience driving improvement programs in the operations, engineering and support fields

Responsibilities

  • Lead delivery of complex projects with multi-site impact ($10M to $50M scope)
  • Provide technical expertise for automation initiatives across assigned sites
  • Implement technical solutions and lead project level decisions
  • Follow and help develop technical standards and best practices
  • Work cross-functionally with engineering, supply chain, and operations teams
  • Participate in technical reviews and drive engineering excellence
  • Implement scalable solutions across assigned facilities
  • Recommend and implement process improvements
  • Create and maintain technical documentation
  • Drive achievement of safety, timeline, cost, and quality metrics
  • Provide technical input to leadership for decision-making
  • Manage relationships with vendors and partners
