About The Position

The MHA Intern will gain comprehensive exposure to healthcare administration within a rural hospital setting. This internship provides an opportunity to develop a strong understanding of healthcare governance, organizational operations, and applicable healthcare laws and regulations. The intern will also build foundational business competencies, including accounting, financial management, and process improvement methodologies. Through departmental rotations and project-based assignments, the intern will gain hands-on experience supporting hospital leadership and operational initiatives.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in, and actively pursuing, a Master of Healthcare Administration (MHA) degree from an accredited institution.
• Most recent academic transcript (official or unofficial).
• Current immunization records.

Nice To Haves

• Prior healthcare experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate directly with the Chief Executive Officer and senior leadership team to gain insight into strategic planning, operational management, and the delivery of healthcare services in a rural environment.
• Participate in departmental rotations to develop an understanding of hospital operations and cross-functional workflows.
• Assist with administrative projects, performance improvement initiatives, and financial or operational analyses as assigned.
• Support leadership in evaluating organizational processes, regulatory compliance, and strategic initiatives.
