About The Position

The Operating Room Equipment Coordinator at Morton Hospital is responsible for maintaining the inventory of supplies and equipment in the Operating Room. This role involves interfacing with various departments for the purchase, loan, and repair of equipment, as well as supporting the Perioperative Services team in meeting all materials needs for the OR.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Experience in a healthcare environment.
• Basic technical knowledge of clinical equipment preventive and corrective repair standards.
• Ability to analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve equipment repairs.
• Knowledge of computers, electrical, electronic, and mechanical principles.
• Ability to explain and demonstrate the correct operation of clinical equipment to medical personnel.

Responsibilities

• Maintains par level of supplies used in OR stock and non-stock.
• Communicates supply stock-outs and equipment for repair.
• Orders supplies and equipment as needed in a cost-effective manner.
• Receives and distributes direct orders and non-inventory items.
• Monitors and stocks inventory items in all supply locations.
• Maintains files for capital equipment warranty items, repair histories, and loaner equipment.
• Prepares confidential and special reports as well as routine monthly reports for the Director or VP.
• Conducts semi-annual inventory of OR supplies.
• Obtains special equipment/instrumentation requested by physicians in time for the procedure.
• Manages repair of instruments and equipment, obtains loaners, and follows up as necessary.
• Assists or conducts inservices on the care, maintenance, and sterilization of OR equipment/instrumentation.
• Assists in the development of the annual Capital Equipment Request list.
