About The Position
The Manager of Supply Chain Operations at SSM Health Care Corporate plays a crucial role in ensuring that supply chain operational strategies effectively address patient safety, quality, clinical outcomes, and cost control across various departments. This position is responsible for providing direction and leadership to the supply chain team, ensuring compliance with operational standards through the use of dashboards and facility audits. The manager applies specialized knowledge to solve complex supply chain management and business problems while adhering to established policies and practices. In this role, the manager promotes team building and collaboration, hiring, training, mentoring, and supervising staff to motivate them towards achieving personal, organizational, and team goals. Conducting annual reviews and recognizing accomplishments are key responsibilities, as is encouraging staff development and soliciting input for improvement opportunities. The manager also oversees various programs and services, interacting with multiple departments to monitor performance outcomes and provide relevant reporting. The position serves as a liaison with vendors to coordinate bulk and special purchases, supporting product and vendor conversions, and other initiatives. The manager oversees the generation of tracing reports for vendors and manages value initiatives such as rebate management and food service project management. Additionally, the manager participates in developing strategic plans and operationalizes these plans for assigned supply chain operations, ensuring that the departments provide premier customer service to all internal and external customers. The manager is tasked with developing, administering, and monitoring regional supply chain operations strategies and goals, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and community healthcare needs. This includes the development and standardization of leading practice supply chain operation processes in logistics, warehousing, procurement, distribution, and inventory management. The manager creates an environment that encourages the improvement of the quality and scope of supply chain operations services, directing and monitoring automation best practices and innovations to ensure a superior customer experience. Furthermore, the manager optimizes supply utilization by leveraging internal and external benchmarks, clinical research, and other data to identify opportunities for process improvements. Developing financial improvement plans to drive efficiencies and cost savings is also a critical aspect of this role. The manager performs other duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the supply chain operations within the organization.
