About the position

The Manager of Specialty Pharmacy Programs is responsible for overseeing the operations, staff, and sustainable business growth of assigned retail pharmacy stores within a geographic area. This role includes managing service and clinical quality, employee engagement, and financial performance. The manager will monitor store productivity, collaborate with supervisors and pharmacists, and ensure compliance with pharmacy rules and regulations. The position requires regular on-site visibility and the implementation of operational goals and contingency plans. Additionally, the manager will handle human resources responsibilities, including interviewing, staff development, and performance evaluations.

Responsibilities

  • Manages and oversees the operations, staff, and sustainable business growth of assigned retail pharmacy stores.
  • Monitors each store's productivity and works with supervisors and pharmacists to make appropriate staff adjustments.
  • Maintains a high degree of on-site visibility, performing regular visits to assigned stores.
  • Collaborates with supervisors and pharmacists to ensure effective and efficient operations.
  • Implements operational goals and contingency plans, and monitors progress.
  • Identifies, develops, and conducts appropriate training and education for staff.
  • Resolves customer service complaints and concerns.
  • Promotes and advertises pharmacy services and ensures prescription capture.
  • Identifies, plans, and organizes information system and technology improvements.
  • Performs human resources responsibilities for staff.
  • Develops and recommends operating and capital budgets.

Requirements

  • Pharmacist license issued by the state in which the team member practices.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy.
  • Typically requires 5 years of experience in pharmacy practice, including 1 year of supervisory experience.

  • Advanced level knowledge of advances in pharmaceutical practices.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills including problem solving, prioritization, and decision making.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
