The manager of home infusion pharmacy is responsible for overseeing the staff, efficient operations and development and growth of the service line.
Responsible for the successful coordination of care from the home infusion pharmacy
Communicate standards of performance for personnel and ensure adherence
Responsible for direct functional areas to ensure smooth effective operations including day to day supervision of dispensing sterile preparations and delivery activities
Manage qualified staff, ensures adequate staff education, competencies and surpass goals and objectives
Manage pharmacy and staff maintain compliance with all regulatory, legislative, educational and accreditation requirements
Seeks improvement in safe medication practices at every opportunity
Oversees the development, implementation and maintenance of policies and procedures to maintain compliance with Board of Pharmacy, USP and accreditation standards related to pharmacy
Identifies and coordinates the improvement of the quality of care and services provided
Assist with the preparation of sales and operational goals and budgets and provide direction and assistance in achievement of them
Control expenses in accordance with targets and procedures
Attend and participate in quarterly quality management committee meetings
Keeps abreast of industry changes and informs staff as appropriate
Provides positive and responsive customer service
Demonstrates knowledge of core home infusion therapy referrals and qualifying criteria
Represents the home infusion services on behalf of the Orlando Health system in a positive and professional manner
Maintains regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures
Graduate from an approved school of pharmacy (BS or PharmD)
Maintains current license as a registered pharmacist
Two (2) years of management experience in healthcare industry required
Five (5) years in home infusion or sterile compounding experience may substitute for the two (2) years of management experience
