About The Position

Nintendo of Canada Ltd. (NOCL) is looking for a new Retail Marketing Manager to join their Sales team. The NOCL Sales team works closely with internal and external partners to bring Nintendo products to consumers across Canada through online and in store retail locations. This team is responsible for physical and digital sales at retail, fostering strong retailer partnerships, delivering innovative displays, product education and experiences, and ensuring product is easily shoppable across many different types of environments. As the Retail Marketing Manager, you will lead a team in creating, developing, and adapting these online and in store experiences with NOCL's Canadian retail partners to drive strong product sales and deliver smiles to consumers. This role works closely with numerous internal teams to ensure large-scale events, promotions and partnerships execute flawlessly at retail and includes developing relationships with key stakeholders at retail head offices. This manager has 3 direct reports, each with specialized areas of expertise to deliver on these goals and will be responsible for their development and promoting a fun and energetic team culture.

Requirements

  • Seven or more years related experience including a minimum of 4 years of retail marketing and/or consumer marketing experience.
  • Experience managing a team.
  • Understanding of product promotion and brand management and the creation of marketing and promotional materials.
  • Strong PC skills (including Windows, Excel, Power Point, Photoshop).
  • Project management or account management experience required, preferably with a large multi-channel retailer.
  • Must have experience with a breadth of marketing tools including TV, radio, print, online, and interactive as well as experience working with top retail accounts.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively lead project teams, interact with employees of all levels and overcome ambiguity are required.
  • Knowledge of Nintendo products/video game industry helpful.
  • Undergraduate degree in Business, Marketing, a related field or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Sets the retail marketing strategy and carries out the execution of marketing/temporary merchandising initiatives for Nintendo's business.
  • Develops national launch programs for new hardware, software and accessories, including strategies, messaging, branding and execution.
  • Manages a team of full-time marketing/merchandising staff.
  • Develops account specific marketing plans with Customer Marketing Managers (CMMs) that include, but are not limited to: advertising, promotions, merchandising, weekly ads, and retail.com.
  • Develops presentations and promotional planning calendars for key retailers and sales team.
  • Facilitates ideation sessions for account specific launch programming and develops the retail launch strategy for hardware, software and accessory launches.
  • Creates, implements, executes, and optimizes channel marketing activities.
  • Influences the sales and marketing initiatives by bridging the internal business vision with the strategic goals established for each retail partner.
  • Manages and oversees the budgets for launch initiatives.
  • Collaborates with internal Design and Creative Development teams on creative and merchandising needs as well as external agencies for other forms of media.
  • Reviews and provides analysis on promotional programs / completes ROI analysis.
  • Serves as a cross-functional leader in relation to all account-specific programming and will often lead project teams and brief them on assignment scope.
  • Dynamically presents key marketing materials in front of retailers, executives and sales team.
  • May represent Nintendo as designated as an official corporate spokesperson contingent upon successful completion of training.

Benefits

  • The hiring range for this position is $102,000 - $153,000 CAD annual and is subject to change.
  • The final base salary compensation will be based on factors such as skills, education, and experience.
