About The Position

The Manager of Quality, Risk and Education is responsible for overseeing quality management, risk management, and educational activities within Peninsula, a division of Parkwest Medical Center. This role involves planning, budgeting, directing, monitoring, and evaluating performance improvement functions to ensure regulatory compliance and patient safety. The manager will collaborate with leadership to implement strategies and educational initiatives, manage quality and safety databases, and ensure adherence to clinical practices and standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing or relevant Healthcare field degree required.
  • Master's degree in health or leadership related field preferred.
  • A minimum of five years' experience in a healthcare management/leadership role required.
  • Must have and maintain a Tennessee RN license.

Responsibilities

  • Implements and directs the system plans for Quality Management and Performance Excellence.
  • Collaborates with leadership to design and implement various tools, strategies, and educational initiatives to achieve desired results.
  • Works with Peninsula leaders on the development, implementation, and evaluation of standards of care and clinical practice.
  • Provides oversight for quality management activities of the medical staff in conjunction with the Chairman of the Behavioral Medicine Department and Medical Directors.
  • Plans and facilitates the Quality and Safety Committee and works with leadership on additional Performance Improvement teams.
  • Oversees the analysis of quality data, ensures proper reporting, and initiates action plans based on results.
  • Supports the development of nursing and clinical staff in collaboration with nursing and facility leadership.
  • Serves as Administrator on Call as scheduled as part of a rotation.
  • Implements and directs the system plans for Risk Management.
  • Facilitates and oversees interdisciplinary teams such as RCA teams to achieve desired results.
  • Represents behavioral health programs at risk management committee meetings and provides summaries of risk management efforts.
  • Directs activities designed to minimize risk exposure such as System Improvement Reports and Risk Trending.
  • Oversees the court commitment process for Peninsula Hospital.
  • Educates and provides in-service training to staff, including orientation for new employees.
