About The Position

The Manager, Product Stewardship & Regulatory Affairs supports and increasingly leads product stewardship, regulatory compliance, and market‑access activities across the Americas. This role operates within a global CSR and product stewardship organization and is critical to enabling new product commercialization, maintaining regulatory compliance for existing products, and supporting long‑term business growth. The position requires strong technical expertise, regulatory knowledge, and the ability to develop into a senior leadership role.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or similar field (advanced degree preferred).
  • 5–10 years of experience in regulatory affairs and product stewardship, including TSCA, FDA, and related programs.
  • Strong chemistry background; polymer chemistry experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems and standard office software.
  • Ability to travel ~15% initially, with increased travel expected as responsibilities grow.

Responsibilities

  • Leads and coordinates product stewardship reviews for raw materials and finished products with cross-functional teams.
  • Supports and progressively leads new product registrations in the Americas, including TSCA PMNs, LVEs, Polymer Exemptions, Canadian DSL/NDSL notifications, and TSCA Sections 8(c)/8(e) evaluations.
  • Manages the FDA food‑contact portfolio and assists in preparing Food Contact Notifications (FCNs).
  • Generates and maintains Safety Data Sheets (SDS) in collaboration with Japan and global teams.
  • Respond to complex product stewardship inquiries, escalating issues appropriately while building independent technical judgment.
  • Assists supply chain and logistics with export control clearances, TSCA export notifications, and EAR documentation.
  • Supports procurement with TSCA import clearances and supplier compliance assessments.
  • Collaborates with legal counsel on regulatory interpretations, compliance issues, and customer declarations.
  • Monitors evolving regulatory requirements at the federal, state, and international levels.
  • Assesses business impacts and communicate implications to stakeholders.
  • Contributes to developing regional regulatory strategies aligned with AGC’s global CSR objectives.
  • Supports advocacy efforts with trade associations, government agencies, and NGOs.
  • Participates in industry working groups and committees as delegated, with increasing responsibility and visibility over time.
  • Develops and delivers regulatory and product safety training to R&D, manufacturing, commercial, customer service, and procurement teams.
  • Serves as a technical resource to internal teams and customers.
  • Act as deputy to the Director on selected initiatives and external engagements.
