About The Position

The essential function of the position within the organization is to serve as a food service manager at a district school cafeteria. The position is responsible for supervising cafeteria food servers and food preparation. The position works under general supervision according to some procedures; decides how and when to complete tasks.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma GED, or vocational training Required
  • Two years of related experience Required
  • Food Safety Certification Completion of an approved food service safety certification examination Required

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize and supervise the work of cafeteria employees.
  • Plan and direct the preparation and serving of all food in the cafeteria and clean-up after same.
  • Ensure that sanitation procedures are followed.
  • Inspect the kitchen, equipment, and storage areas for cleanliness.
  • Plan, direct, and supervise cleaning schedule for dining area of the cafeteria as well as the serving area.
  • Instruct new cafeteria employees in performing their assigned tasks and evaluate their performance.
  • Secure revenue until it has been turned over to the proper district staff.
  • Keep and submit accurate records and reports as required.
  • Evaluate employees and operation.
