About The Position

The Mgr – Lean/Continuous Improvement will be responsible for leading the Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives focusing on the elimination of waste and non-value-added activities and improvement of performance in Safety, Quality, Product Delivery, Cost and Inventory. This role shares ownership in achieving world class performance and continuous improvement of production. They will also be accountable for leading effort to achieve strategies and goals of becoming a low cost and high-quality producer of choice.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, industrial engineering or related field
  • Advanced degree (MBA, Master’s) preferred
  • 8+ years progressive lean concepts experience with demonstrated success; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5+ years in a leadership role
  • Six Sigma experience preferred
  • Occasional travel either locally, nationally, and/or internationally may be required.
  • High degree of proficiency in MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications.
  • Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning).
  • Solid understanding and application of mathematical concepts.
  • Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as, internal and external clients.
  • Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
  • Ability to work with and influence peers and management.
  • Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Analyzes and audits existing business processes to identify improvement opportunities or gaps where new processes or controls are needed.
  • Participates as a team member of 5S audits and Corrective Action Reports, ensuring programs are effective.
  • Implements changes to Lean/Continuous Improvement training material as needed.
  • Develops presentation material and periodically conduct and facilitate meetings with various Divisional Leaders.
  • Assists Division Leaders in value definition of proposed projects.
  • Plans, directs, and coordinates activities of employee(s) to ensure goals or objectives are accomplished.
  • Mentors, coaches, trains and develops team.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
