The Mgr-Fleet Maintenance position at FedEx involves managing fleet maintenance personnel and ensuring equipment readiness at a large FedEx Freight shop location. Manage fleet maintenance personnel and activities.
Ensure equipment repairs are completed in a high-quality and timely manner.
Monitor employee performance and provide corrective action.
Plan daily staffing to meet workload demands.
Support the Operations team regarding equipment-related issues.
Monitor and analyze opportunities to cut costs and improve efficiencies.
Perform administrative functions including payroll approval and compliance documentation.
Ensure clean and safe working conditions of the facility and equipment.
Communicate with Fleet Maintenance leadership to meet operational needs.
Identify and monitor equipment sent to outside vendors for repairs.
Conduct pre-shift meetings with employees and weekly meetings with the Operations team.
Collaborate with Safety and other departments to investigate safety and accident-related matters.
Comply with all applicable laws/regulations and company policies.

High school diploma or equivalent; two or more years of college preferred.
Three years of vehicle maintenance experience, including at least one year in a team lead/supervisory/management role.
Ability to operate a manual transmission truck.
Valid driver's license required.
Knowledge of equipment maintenance and DOT rules and regulations.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Proven leadership and interpersonal skills.
Negotiating, problem solving, and decision-making skills.
Multi-task oriented with good organizational skills.
Basic Microsoft Office and Internet skills.
