Directs and coordinates, as part of the system’s comprehensive patient care, all activities concerned with on-site financial counseling from all WVU Medicine hospital locations.
Plans, organizes, and directs business processes related to financial counseling within multi-campus, multi-organizational health system.
Acts as primary financial counseling contact for WVU Medicine.
Develops and/or actively participates in on-going policy and procedure reviews and revisions to Financial Counseling processes to ensure timely, accurate counseling procedures.
Manages assigned projects to benefit the enterprise revenue cycle team.
Ensures best practices and policies are followed.
Monitors system reports and dashboards daily to ensure targets are being met and identifying areas of need for each facility.
Sets solid analytical goals and directs team to achieve those goals using specific, targeted, data driven tactics.
Management of department personnel to ensure qualified work force.
Ensure regular communication with team to ensure that employee needs are met and that the productivity and engagement of staff is maintained.
Works within budgeted expenses and participates in development and management of enterprise departmental budget.
Gathers statistics, completes reports, and performs other duties as scheduled or requested.
Organizes and executes daily tasks in appropriate priority to achieve optimal productivity and efficiency.
Ensures regular, bi-directional communication with the Enterprise PFAS team.
Coordinates with pharmaceutical companies, hospital departments, and patients to ensure completion of assistance programs.
High School diploma or equivalent.
Five (5) years experience in hospital finance/revenue cycle and/or bachelor's degree in lieu of experience.
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration or related field.
Certified Healthcare Financial Professional (CHFP) with the Hospital Financial Management Association (HFMA) is preferred.
