About The Position

Responsible for the direct supervision/management of a staff of Engineers and Designers. Responsible for providing objective-oriented direction to subordinates utilizing management guidelines & general policies. Program Manager Responsibilities include: planning and program performance addressing cost, schedule, technical performance, and quality of a work package, subsystem, or related group of work packages on a large system development-type contract.

Requirements

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited university is required.
• Must Have Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of progressive technical experience in research, engineering and design; Master's Degree and 4 years of relevant experience.
• Newport News Shipbuilding requires a Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program.

Nice To Haves

• The technical AOR for this Manager requisition is Propulsion Plant power in E63, and the candidate is expected to provide oversight to a group of Engineers and Designers.
• Qualified candidates should have knowledge of the Nimitz class Carrier power distribution system.
• Knowledge of Power Generation Machines such as Ship Service Turbine Generators and Emergency Diesel Generators is preferred.
