About The Position

Responsible for the direct supervision/management of a staff of Engineers and Designers. Responsible for providing objective-oriented direction to subordinates utilizing management guidelines & general policies. Program Manager Responsibilities include: planning and program performance addressing cost, schedule, technical performance, and quality of a work package, subsystem, or related group of work packages on a large system development-type contract. A Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited university is required. Newport News Shipbuilding requires a Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited university is required.
Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of progressive technical experience in research, engineering and design
Master's Degree and 4 years of relevant experience

Nice To Haves

The technical AOR for this Manager requisition is Propulsion Plant power in E63, and the candidate is expected to provide oversight to a group of Engineers and Designers.
Qualified candidates should have knowledge of the Nimitz class Carrier power distribution system.
Knowledge of Power Generation Machines such as Ship Service Turbine Generators and Emergency Diesel Generators is preferred.
