Primary Purpose PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION Provides operational, technical, and financial analysis and support for the organization to achieve top quartile performance. Supports the organization's goal of safely constructing and maintaining the company's electrical / gas distribution system, by driving continuous improvement in the areas of productivity, financial responsibility, and customer satisfaction. Assure the focus and attainment of business goals and objectives. Develop and maintain an environment that promotes diversity and inclusion, accountability and fosters teamwork. Establish, promote and maintain a safe work environment. Specific to ComEd External Affairs, Large Customer Services, State Legislative and Government Affairs Implements strategy and provides support for the organization to achieve top quartile performance. Supports the organization's goals by driving continuous improvement in the areas of productivity, financial responsibility, and customer satisfaction. Specific to PECO Energy & Marketing Services Manage, direct, plan, organize and lead a diverse professional department around, marketing, demand-side management and energy efficiency functions. Many of these duties are associated with Energy Efficiency / Demand Response Portfolio. The duties fall into the following primary areas Portfolio Management Portfolio Reporting, Financial Oversight / Budget Control, Portfolio Documentation Management, Portfolio Variance Analysis,), Financial Management (Act 129 Management, ESO and Economic Development Budget Analysis, Marketing & Environmental Program Financial Management & Analysis, Marketing, ESO, and Economic Development General Support (Business Planning, Department Metrics, LRP and Budget Reporting ), and Ad-Hoc Analysis and Support. In addition, serve in a leadership overseeing the RFP process and selection for ACT 129 Conservation Service Providers. In terms of financial oversight, this position is responsible for the oversight of $85M per year. Specific to ComEd Energy Efficiency Manage, direct, plan, organize and lead a diverse professional department around energy efficiency functions. The duties fall into the following primary areas Portfolio Reporting, Portfolio Quality Control and Process Improvement, Portfolio Contracting, Portfolio Data Systems and Controls, and Ad-Hoc Analysis and Support Position may be required to work extended hours for coverage during storms or other energy delivery emergencies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, Marketing, Finance or related discipline of in lieu of a degree, 9-12 years of relevant business experience
  • 7-10 years of relevant industry experience (e.g., leading and managing personnel in the development and execution of initiatives, plans and/or projects, financial planning, budgeting, and analysis)
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex problems, identify root causes/barriers to success, recommended alternative courses of action and implement intervention strategies
  • Demonstrated skills in designing and developing effective presentations
  • Demonstrated skills in establishing objectives and achieving results
  • Demonstrated strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple assignments simultaneously
  • Excellent verbal and written communication/presentation skills and the ability to interface effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Management skills including decisiveness, judgment, negotiation, motivation, and innovation
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement process enhancements and efficiencies including new technology

Nice To Haves

  • Graduate degree or Graduate Level work in Engineering, Business Administration, Marketing, Finance or related field.
  • Previous relevant Energy Delivery experience (e.g., Construction and Maintenance, Operations, Energy & Marketing Services)
  • Working knowledge of Passport, Hyperion, OMS, Microsoft Software platforms (Excel, Powerpoint, Word ,etc.), and Artemis.

Responsibilities

  • Interact with various internal organizations, regional groups and Contractors in areas such as data analysis, technical support, planning and execution of the work plan, emergency response, generator deployment/maintenance programs, cable fault recovery, etc. (20%)
  • Analyze, plan, conduct and/or lead projects to provide operational and/or technical support to individuals and / or company representatives. (20%)
  • Develop plans/procedures, process improvements, and/or perform analyses that are directly related to the achievement of specific performance objectives or business plans for the organization. This includes identifying the proper resources / performance metrics to support proper execution and completion of organization initiatives. (20%)
  • Track and implement focused initiatives and specific metrics - specific focus expected on workforce productivity. (20%)
  • Manage or coordinate with others who perform functions that support the organization. The functions include: facilitation of high level meetings for ComEd/PECO leadership, conduct Root Cause/Ace investigations, financial monitoring and reporting for ComEd/PECO, Business Plan development and monitoring, etc. (20%)
  • Interact with various internal organizations and regional groups in areas such as data analysis, development of Greenboard, Annual Reports, Load Shed Plans and other Franchise required reports, etc. (20%)
  • Support senior executive with corporate initiatives including business continuity planning (BCP) coordinator, Summer/Winter Preparedness coordinator, Management Model, Website management, Safety, etc. (20%)
  • Develop plans/procedures, process improvements, and/or perform analyses that are directly related to the achievement of specific performance objectives or business plans for the organization. This includes identifying the proper resources / performance metrics to support proper execution and completion of organization initiatives. (20%)
  • Track and implement focused initiatives and specific metrics - specific focus expected on workforce productivity. (20%)
  • Manage or coordinate with others who perform functions that support the organization. The functions include: facilitation of high level meetings for ComEd/PECO leadership, conduct Root Cause/Ace investigations, financial monitoring and reporting for ComEd/PECO, Business Plan development and monitoring, etc. (20%)
  • Manage and direct the department activities including budgeting, staffing and day-to-day operations with the main focus being Act 129. Ensure department action plans are effective in achieving department, company and legislative goals while challenging employees to exceed expectations. (30%)
  • Responsible for the development and implementation of business and operational reporting mechanisms to track and evaluate performance of programs as well as leadership contributions to company's short and longer term planning and implementation goals. (20%)
  • Lead the budgeting and accounting management function for Act 129 ($85M annually) as well as ESO and Economic development budget functions. Responsible for tracking all the necessary documentation for Regulatory Assets to ensure cost recovery. (20%)
  • Provide management, direction and leadership across various general functions for the Marketing and Environmental Services area, includes Business Planning function. (15%)
  • As needed, provide leadership and management skills to key strategic projects. (10%)
  • Develop and deliver performance metrics, forecasts, Long Range Plans and recommendations for process improvements and actions to address gaps. (5%)
  • Hold the strategic vision for and effectively manage key information management systems necessary to the success of ComEd's Energy Efficiency (EE) portfolio. (60%)
  • Provide leadership and direction related to the evaluation and enhancement of the operational performance of the EE portfolio (e.g., safety, program management, vendor performance, productivity, etc.). (15%)
  • Oversee the development, maintenance, and presentment of EE operational performance reports for both internal and external use. (10%)
  • Act as a subject matter expert concerning business operations of the EE portfolio. Develop, implement, evaluate or lead projects or initiatives (e.g., business plans or process improvement initiatives). (10%)
  • Conduct complex modeling, forecasting, trending, variance analysis, business case development, and other general financial and operational analysis necessary to support the portfolio (5%)
