About The Position

This position will serve as the Department of Medicine’s Faculty Recruitment Manager, supporting the clinical, research, and education missions through strategic leadership and operational oversight of faculty recruitment, retention, and workforce planning. The Faculty Recruitment Manager will design and implement competitive recruitment and retention strategies, supervise recruitment staff, lead process improvement and special initiatives, and partner closely with departmental leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and three years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written skills and present in a professional manner.

Responsibilities

  • Faculty Recruitment Strategy and Execution Lead high‑level faculty and division‑level searches (senior faculty, mission‑critical roles).
  • Advise search committees on strategy, timelines, structure, and compliance.
  • Manage senior‑candidate communications in partnership with department leadership.
  • Develop specialty‑specific recruitment strategies informed by national trends and peer benchmarks.
  • Oversee recruitment activities, delegating execution to staff while maintaining accountability for candidate experience, timelines, and outcomes.
  • Collaborate with leadership to design, refine, and standardize recruitment processes that align with departmental goals.
  • Track, analyze, and report recruitment metrics to drive continuous improvement.
  • Oversee selection and renewal of job posting platforms, specialty boards, and academic journals.
  • Serve as primary contact for external search and sourcing firms (engagement coordination, performance monitoring).
  • Create and standardize recruitment communication tools (templates, presentations, candidate materials).
  • Align recruitment activity with clinical staffing plans & long‑term workforce strategy Recruitment Operations and Deliverables
  • Draft, edit, and standardize faculty position descriptions and recruitment advertisements in collaboration with HR and leadership.
  • Coordinate and manage candidate itineraries (interviews, meetings, site visits).
  • Act as primary point of contact for candidates, ensuring timely, clear, and professional communication.
  • Coordinate candidate travel, lodging, and reimbursement per institutional policies.
  • Facilitate on‑site and virtual interviews (candidate escorting, day‑of logistics) to create a seamless experience.
  • Support search committees with interview planning, materials preparation, and feedback coordination.
  • Maintain accurate recruitment documentation, records, and tracking systems for compliance Faculty Retention and Workforce Stability
  • Partner with leadership on retention, remediation, and workforce stabilization strategies.
  • Maintain knowledge of faculty development, promotion, and advancement processes.
  • Design, implement, and evaluate retention initiatives focused on engagement, satisfaction, wellness, and long‑term commitment.
  • Support professional development, mentorship, and career advancement programs.
  • Track, analyze, and report retention data to provide actionable insights Advise search committees on strategy, timelines, structure, and compliance. Budget Management
  • Manage and oversee the faculty recruitment budget, ensuring alignment with priorities and policies.
  • Monitor expenditures and provide regular budget status updates.
  • Partner with finance leadership to support responsible fiscal planning.
  • Conduct post‑implementation evaluations to assess impact and translate successful initiatives into standardized workflows. Special Projects and Program Leadership
  • Lead department‑wide initiatives related to recruitment, retention, wellness, faculty development, and workforce sustainability.
  • Design and implement projects such as recruitment process redesigns, retention and engagement initiatives, and wellness programs.
