The Manager of Accounting, North America is primarily responsible for leading, developing, and executing Insight's accounting function and related close process to ensure accuracy of the General Ledger. In addition, the position will be responsible for leading the general ledger accounting team, serving as an accounting liaison to Insight's operating departments, and collaborating cross-functionally with finance teams including FP&A, product revenue, services and partner accounting, billing, AR, AP, and others. An ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal and written communication skills and be willing to embrace a fast-paced, ever-evolving team environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field from a four-year College or University
  • 6 years+ of experience in accounting or finance function, with 2-4 years in a manager or supervisor role
  • Self-motivated, independent, and desire to drive efficiencies through process improvements
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and general ledger accounting
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Advanced MS Excel skills
  • Ability to think critically and understand the underlying purpose of a given journal entry, internal control, or process, including upstream and downstream impacts. Ability to set expectations and identify anomalies
  • Ability to work flexible hours as needed
  • Ability to work in a deadline-oriented environment
  • General knowledge of information technology (networks, operating systems, business applications, web technology, databases)

Nice To Haves

  • CPA certification preferred
  • Public accounting experience required (Big four preferred)
  • Working knowledge of SAP a plus
  • Experience working for a large publicly held company a plus

Responsibilities

  • Manage the efficient preparation and documentation of profit & loss and balance sheet journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Manage and drive month and quarter-end close and consolidation processes through coordination with functional business department owners and accounting personnel.
  • Apply and lead the application of generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Review profit & loss and balance sheet fluctuations relating to distinct business functions.
  • Review financial statement disclosures.
  • Act as the key interface with internal and external audit.
  • Oversee and own key processes and related controls subject to SOX testing.
  • Drive system implementations and acquisition integrations.
  • Identify and drive continuous process improvement efforts.
  • Develop and maintain Accounting Policies and Procedures to ensure US GAAP compliance.
  • Identify improvements for the accounting close process and document solutions for improvements.
  • Resolve business issues and risks related to current Accounting Policies and define new policies, workflows, and procedures as necessary.
  • Perform other analysis and special projects as assigned.
