The Area Production Manager leads a high-performing production team to deliver on safety, quality, and order fulfillment goals. By driving lean manufacturing and continuous improvement, they optimize processes, strengthen employee engagement, and foster a culture of safety and accountability. This role is a hands-on leader, ensuring production meets today's demands while building for tomorrow's success.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree or relevant equivalent experience in lieu of degree.
  • 8-10 years in manufacturing with 5+ years supervisory/management experience.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to evaluate, coach, develop, and motivate team.
  • Knowledge of inventory systems, understanding of manufacturing processes, experience with continuous improvement, and financial acumen.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop production teams through effective scheduling, coaching, performance management, succession planning, and training programs.
  • Champion a proactive safety culture by enforcing policies, driving Safe Start initiatives, eliminating hazards, and modeling best practices in safety and housekeeping.
  • Deliver on production goals and KPIs across safety, quality, delivery, cost, inventory, engagement, and talent development.
  • Drive continuous improvement by applying lean/CI strategies, adopting best practices and new technologies, and leading plant-wide initiatives that enhance productivity, innovation, and operational excellence.
  • Oversee resource and capacity planning, budget management, and capital investments to ensure cost efficiency and long-term business success.
  • Partner cross-functionally on safety, product transitions, lean initiatives, and automation projects to achieve business unit and company objectives.
  • Perform other duties and initiatives as needed to support operational and business goals.
