About the position

Partnerships to Uplift Communities (PUC) Schools is comprised of a non-profit network of public charter schools designed to significantly increase high school graduation rates, college entrance, and college graduation rates for underserved students in North-East Los Angeles, and the North-East San Fernando Valley. Our mission at PUC Schools is to develop and manage high-quality charter schools in densely populated urban communities with overcrowded and low-achieving schools. We create school programs and cultures that promote college graduation for all students. We uplift and revitalize communities through the success of our students and through inspiring them to uplift our communities now and forever and through the development of educational and other supportive partnerships.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct a search for information on various topics related to the field of Mental Health including theories, treatment/interventions, group therapy topics/curriculums, diagnosis, community resources/referrals, and therapy tools/books/resources.
  • Keep inventory of Clinical Counseling Program materials.
  • Maintain file cabinet.
  • Check stock on toys, games, books, etc. for Clinical Counseling Department.
  • Coordinate with MFT Trainees/Interns to conduct phone conversations and set up family therapy appointments with Spanish-speaking families (if bilingual).
  • Translate Family Therapy sessions for MFT Trainees with Spanish-speaking families (if bilingual).
  • Attend monthly trainings, orientation sessions, and group supervisions.
  • Exhibit integrity, initiative, motivation, attitude, self-awareness.
  • Demonstrate appropriate oral and written skills.
  • Show respect for clients, colleagues, and staff in professional contexts and maintain professional relationships.
  • Manage own affect.
  • Exhibit an understanding of and involvement in the community.
  • Adhere to agency policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program, majoring/minoring in the field of Psychology, Sociology, Marital and Family Therapy, School Counseling, or Social Work.
