About The Position

Evernest is seeking an experienced, driven, and client obsessed Leasing Manager to lead leasing operations in the Chicago region. This role is critical to driving occupancy, reducing days on market, optimizing renewals, and delivering an exceptional client experience. You will own leasing performance by managing marketing and advertising strategies, advising clients on pricing and promotional opportunities, preparing and analyzing leasing reports, and ensuring Evernest properties remain competitive in the market. You will also play a pivotal role in renewal strategy and the notice to vacate process, partnering with property managers to set pricing recommendations, advise owners, and ensure consistent execution across the portfolio. This position works closely with a centralized leasing team that manages the majority of prospect communication and day-to-day leasing inquiries. Your focus will be on leadership, strategy, and performance management rather than handling high volumes of direct prospect calls or emails. You will lead owner calls with confidence, provide data-backed recommendations, and coach your team to deliver a high standard of excellence in every prospect and resident interaction. The ideal candidate has a proven track record in property leasing and team leadership, with the ability to balance strategic planning and hands-on execution. This role reports directly to the VP of Multifamily Operations and offers high visibility with opportunities to influence company strategy as we scale.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in property leasing with a track record of driving occupancy and renewals.
  • Demonstrated success leading teams and coaching high performers.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable recommendations.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with confidence in leading owner calls and client discussions.
  • Ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on execution in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare weekly leasing reports and lead owner calls with professionalism, delivering clear insights, data-driven recommendations, and confident updates.
  • Lead, develop, and coach leasing agents and centralized leasing team members, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and high performance aligned with Evernest’s core values.
  • Increase occupancy and revenue by executing effective marketing, advertising, pricing, and concession strategies.
  • Advise clients on pricing and promotional opportunities to ensure properties remain competitive in the market.
  • Oversee renewal strategy, including pricing recommendations, owner discussions, and the notice to vacate process, partnering with property managers and central teams to ensure renewal offers are executed consistently and effectively.
  • Partner with the centralized leasing team to monitor prospect engagement, follow-up, and unit readiness, stepping in when necessary to model excellence and ownership for the team.
  • Monitor market conditions and competitor activity; analyze leasing and renewal metrics to identify opportunities and proactively resolve performance gaps.
  • Partner with property management, marketing, and property services teams to deliver a seamless owner experience and consistently achieve client goals.
  • Leverage technology and innovative practices to increase visibility, streamline workflows, and elevate the prospect and resident experience.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Leasing to design and implement world class processes, technology, and reporting that drive exceptional leasing and renewal results.
  • Champion innovation in leasing practices by bringing forward new ideas that improve efficiency, effectiveness, and outcomes.
