About The Position

Perform high risk obstetrical ultrasounds, as well as specialized exams, while demonstrating the appropriate knowledge and skills. Perform independent sonographic images of maternal-fetal conditions and may assist provider with ultrasound guidance during invasive procedures and fetal intervention surgeries, including CVS, amniocentesis, PUBS, laser surgery for TTTS, depending on department. Follow physician's instructions, prepare and operate equipment and position patients correctly in order to record the requested diagnostic images. Maintain practice standards as outlined in The American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine (AIUM) accreditation. Requirements

  • Requires 0-3 years of relevant experience.
  • Basic Life Support certification required.
  • Requires ability to maneuver equipment and improvise positions when the condition of the patient does not permit routine positioning.
  • Requires completion of an accredited ultrasound training program.
  • May be required to meet registry/certification requirements for another modality, if applicable.
  • May require license from Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH), if applicable.
  • Requires RDMS (OB/GYN) for MFM Sonography to be completed by 1 year of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • 1 - 3 years of OB/GYN or MFM experience preferred.
  • Prefer active status through one of the following: American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS): Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer - Obstetrics & Gynecology, RDMS (OB/GYN) or Pediatric Sonography, RDMS (PS); or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT): Registered Technologist - Sonography, RT(S). May require additional certifications/credentials specific to fetal medicine, based on practice/clinic needs.
