About The Position

New Graduate PRN Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) Sonographer Locations: St. George MFM & Cedar City MFM Schedule: PRN / As Needed Pay Range: $42.66 per hour for new grads Make a Meaningful Impact Where Expertise Matters Most Join a highly specialized Maternal Fetal Medicine team providing advanced, high-quality diagnostic ultrasound care to patients during some of the most critical moments of pregnancy. As a PRN MFM Sonographer, you will support both St. George and Cedar City MFM locations, working alongside physicians, radiologists, and multidisciplinary care teams to deliver precise imaging and compassionate care. This opportunity is ideal for experienced sonographers who excel in complex imaging environments and value flexibility, technical excellence, and patient-centered care. Position Summary The Maternal Fetal Medicine Sonographer performs advanced diagnostic ultrasound examinations using specialized equipment to support the diagnosis and management of high-risk pregnancies. This role requires strong technical expertise in MFM imaging, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced clinical setting while collaborating closely with providers.

  • Advanced Maternal Fetal Medicine ultrasound imaging

  • Advanced imaging techniques
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • ARDMS registered in OB/GYN or Fetal Echocardiography (required)
  • Supports MFM research studies and meets quality standards for AIUM
  • Detailed Fetal Anatomy Exam (76811) accredited practices
  • Demonstrated ability to independently perform complex and challenging MFM exams
  • Subject matter expertise in advanced ultrasound technologies and techniques
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers (required)

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of one (1) year of Maternal Fetal Medicine experience (through clinicals helps!)

Responsibilities

  • Ensures accurate patient identification and prepares patients for examinations
  • Performs high-level Maternal Fetal Medicine ultrasound imaging
  • Uses appropriate imaging techniques to ensure safe, timely, and high-quality diagnostic exams
  • Completes and annotates medically acceptable exams following system-standard MFM scanning protocols
  • Produces maximum diagnostic information efficiently while maintaining image quality
  • Ensures exams are completed accurately and transferred to PACS
  • Follows protocols for medical necessity, documentation, coding, charging, and consents
  • Demonstrates strong safety practices, including infection prevention and equipment cleaning
  • Completes all required documentation, including timestamps and image storage
  • Maintains proficiency in downtime and PACS image modification processes
  • Reports equipment issues and participates in quality and safety initiatives
  • Participates in MFM clinical training and professional development
  • Actively contributes to process improvement efforts that enhance patient experience, access, and quality
  • May serve in additional roles such as system superuser, quality technical lead, research lead, education lead, or equipment lead as assigned
