MedStar Health is looking for a PRN MFM Ultrasound Technologist to join our team at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital! The Ultrasound Technologist performs, under routine supervision, Ob/Gyn sonograms, biophysical profiles, non-stress tests and AFI's. Assists with amniocentesis and chorionic villus sampling procedures. Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED or Graduate of an accredited School of Diagnostic Ultrasound.
- 1-2 years in OB/GYN ultrasound.
- RDMS (Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer) registered or successful completion of certification within 180 Days.
Responsibilities
- Performs sonographic evaluations of fetal morphology, age, growth assessment, and color doppler studies.
- Performs ultrasound exams utilizing different scanning modalities as required by the patient's condition and/or examination requested.
- Evaluates images for quality.
- Photographs appropriate images utilizing multiformat cameras.
- May access, manipulate, store, and print M.I. digital images.
- Reviews processed images with physicians.
- Enters data to generate sonographic report.
- Works with physicians, nursing staff and schedulers to ensure patients are seen promptly.
- May assist in training and education of patients, employees, physicians, students and/or other healthcare professionals.
- Cleans and sterilizes equipment and procedure table before and after each procedure.
- May be responsible for or assist in control inventory and purchasing of supplies for assigned area.
