About The Position

The MFG Systems Analyst formulates and defines system scope and objectives through research and fact-finding to develop or modify moderately complex information systems. Prepares detailed specifications from which programs will be written. Designs, codes, tests, debugs, document, and maintains those programs. Competent to work on most phases of applications systems analysis and programming activities, but requires instruction and guidance in other phases.  The salary range for this position is $73,000 - $109,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications with annual bonus available (variable depending on performance).  In addition to the base salary, Perdue offers a competitive benefits package, including medical/Rx, 401(k) with employer match after 1 year, critical illness, accident insurance, dental, vision, life insurance, optional group life insurance, short-term and long-term disability protection, flexible spending accounts and paid time off.

Requirements

  • BS degree or equivalent related work experience in Computer Science, Information Technology or Business Management.
  • 2+ years experience in IT Support or a similiar role.
  • Shows a progression in the systems development field from programming through project management and demonstrating the required skill for this position.
  • Requires knowledge in computer analysis and programming, systems development methodology, project management, customer and communication skills.
  • Continuous improvement in knowledge of the poultry industry via poultry technology courses.
  • Rotating twenty-four hour systems support is required.
  • Rotating weekend systems support is required.
  • Requires travel, possibly overnight, to any customer area, which could be any Company facility or to a remote site for disaster recovery or training or to a training facility or conference.

Responsibilities

  • Translates the requirements for system function to detail program designs using the Systems Development Methodology (SDM) and appropriate project management applications.
  • Codes, tests, configure and documents programs and systems from detailed specifications using the systems development methodology (SDM) and structured programming practices to produce reliable programs.
  • Actively supports the Team Management and Quality Improvement Process through demonstrated commitment of its concepts and tools (teambuilding, zero defects, measurement, goal setting, process models, etc.).
  • Works as a team member in the development, enhancement and support of applications that meet or exceed customer requirements.
  • Maintains technical proficiency by training and using the latest techniques in developing and maintaining systems.
  • Acquires knowledge of existing applications for troubleshooting and user questions to be an asset to the user community.
  • In addition, provides twenty-four hour/day, seven days/week on-call support of critical systems.
