Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a Lab Planner - Early Career, for our Sunnyvale, California site. The Lab Planner will serve as a key technical member supporting the design, development, test, and manufacture of spacecraft, missiles, and ground support hardware. This role works closely with lab personnel and multiple internal stakeholders (Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Procurement, Inventory, and Integration & Test Management) to prioritize lab activities, manage supply needs, and drive process improvements that ensure timely, high quality mission outcomes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated understanding of supply chain, operations, or planning concepts through coursework or prior work experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in supply chain, manufacturing planning, or related functions.
  • Familiarity with SAP/ERP systems or the ability to quickly master such tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects; strong prioritization skills.
  • High computer literacy and a demonstrated ability to learn new software rapidly.
  • Capability to operate in a fast paced, demanding environment with minimal supervision, showing independent thinking and problem solving.
  • Strong organizational abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Review technical documents to identify and resolve discrepancies while performing requirement analysis.
  • Identify operating supply needs based on priorities communicated by operations and supply chain.
  • Execute procurement activities and track receipt/invoice status.
  • Perform preliminary data analysis using provided guidelines; apply quantitative judgment to recommend process improvements.
  • Develop and drive planning related performance improvements to meet turnaround goals.
  • Coordinate lab and facilities personnel to ensure efficient laboratory operations.
  • Track and execute tasks based on lab priority inputs; maintain daily, weekly, and monthly metrics.
  • Attend daily and weekly team meetings to discuss technical, schedule, and operations issues.
  • Provide weekly status reports to program leads and management, highlighting progress, risks, and mitigation actions.
  • Liaise with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Procurement, Inventory, and Integration & Test Management to provide timely status updates, identify problems, and facilitate resolution.
  • Ensure adherence to established planning processes and software tools (e.g., SAP/ERP, LIMS).
  • Identify opportunities for process automation and efficiency gains; lead implementation where feasible.
