About The Position

Under regular supervision, this role involves assembling equipment by reading instructions and utilizing hand and power tools to install and connect manufactured goods. The position requires proficiency in undertaking non-standard applications. It emphasizes quality-driven customer service, meeting estimated task hours, and assisting co-workers as requested by department management.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Ability to work in an environment with fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration.
  • Ability to work in a variety of extreme conditions.
  • Ability to work in loud noise level environments and job sites.
  • Ability to perform duties in all weather conditions.
  • Routinely use standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers.
  • Regularly required to talk or hear.
  • Frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to grip, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
  • Occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • Frequently lift or move up to 75 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to travel primarily local during the business day, with some out of the area and overnight travel expected.

Nice To Haves

  • Similar or related product knowledge.
  • Experience in a custom installation environment.
  • Vocational training in automotive or industrial mechanics including basic welding, fabrication, electrical and hydraulic training.

Responsibilities

  • Operate hand and power tools for mechanical, hydraulic and/ or electronic assembly typically including screwdrivers, wrenches, wire cutters, air wrenches, hand drills, micrometers, voltmeters, tape measures, plasma cutters, Mig welding, soldering irons and finish grinders.
  • Will operate overhead cranes, fork lifts and floor jacks.
  • Interpret work instruction(s) in order to install, fasten and connect parts.
  • Visually inspect previous installation(s) and inspect own work prior to final quality installation. Adjust accordingly.
  • Maintain a clean work area and keep equipment in a neat and organized manner.
  • Uses technology to document completed installation.
  • Communicates with supervisor to ensure inventory of parts, etc. are kept at appropriate levels and to expedite parts as required.
  • Quality driven for best customer service result while meeting estimates.
  • Goal orientated to be self-driven to meet task related estimated hours to complete jobs.
  • Provide assistance to co-workers as requested by department management.
