About The Position

US Farathane is seeking a 1st Shift Mezzanine Operator. The position is responsible to provide proper material to the cell/area to achieve optimal productivity, quality, and safety to assure internal and external customer satisfaction. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Check availability and order necessary materials from warehouse to maintain molding schedule, executing material transactions properly. Notify supervisor of material shortage conditions. Communicate with preceding and oncoming material handler processing and production conditions. Participate in shift meetings, problem solving activities, and improvement efforts. Maintain material logs recording necessary material component and lot numbers as required per plant procedures to ensure material traceability. During job set up, review Parts Plus B.O.M.’s to ensure correct material/component usage. For material changeovers, clean and clear drying material, bin hoppers, receivers, grinders, and hoses to ensure that previous materials are removed and material contamination does not occur – use air hose provided. Clean and properly identify all material to ensure the necessary transaction documentation is executed when returning material to storage, this includes regrind. Set up materials to properly pre-dry ahead of material changeovers. Blend colors, additives per scheduled requirements as necessary. Maintain necessary material levels at feed bins to ensure non-interrupted flow of material to molding, keeping hoppers full at all times. Provide virgin material for molding machine changeovers in order to meet molding schedule. This requires loading material and drying bins, maintaining FIFO (First In First Out) at all times. Maintain proper identification of all materials at the feed room and individual machines. Perform necessary moisture testing of materials. Monitor moisture read outs using touch screens. Monitor and control the required settings and dryer temperatures using touch screens. Monitor and control the required material settings for bin temperature using touch screens. Perform Preventative Maintenance as required. Clean, change as necessary, dryer, canister and receiver filters. Monitor job material usage using equipment monitors. Adhere to all company policies and procedures (i.e., quality policy manual, employee policy guide, Level II procedures, etc.) Comply with all internal and OSHA required safety procedures. Maintain and fulfill housekeeping requirements. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
