An opportunity exists in the Advanced Microelectronics Solutions (AMS) Department, a part of Raytheon, for a 2nd Shift Metrology Process Support Engineer. AMS develops, designs, and manufactures compound semiconductor devices, millimeter/microwave integrated circuits, focal plane arrays, and modules for defense and commercial applications. The individual in this role will serve as a process engineer within the Metrology Workcenter, which will focus primarily on supporting the production line through measurement techniques such as CDSEM and overlay. The ideal candidate will have experience in both electron and optical microscopy and a general understanding of measurement systems analysis. They would also demonstrate the ability to analyze data and clearly communicate results with process and development engineers. Further, they would have experience leading or contributing to process improvement projects. The candidate will support the operational goals of the facility through the collection of reliable data to support the other process areas. The candidate should have a general understanding of the overall techniques involved in semiconductor wafer fabrication and integration, with some experience of analog device processing. Experience with statistical analysis software such as JMP, Minitab, R, etc. is preferred. This position is 100% onsite and will be based in Andover, MA.

  • Supporting the production line through custom job writes, lot disposition, and data validation.
  • Collaborating with Engineering, Operations, and Quality to troubleshoot efforts with production processes
  • Working with the Metrology lead engineer to drive efforts to improve measurement and data quality.
  • Supporting capital qualification efforts.
  • Typically, a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and 5+ years of prior work experience OR a STEM Master's and 2+ years of prior work experience related to semiconductor metrology techniques such as automated optical inspection, CDSEM, overlay, reflectometry, ellipsometry, or others.
  • Experience troubleshooting production process equipment.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • Master’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).
  • Experience supporting process improvement projects
  • Experience working with SQL databases
  • Experience with statistical analysis software (JMP, Minitab, R, SPSS, MATLAB, etc)
  • Experience with compound semiconductor devices.
  • Experience in statistical process control (SPC) and/or advanced process control (APC)
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to clearly present data and analyses
