Summary of Role: The Metrology intern supports the Metrology Engineering area at Fab 9. The Metrology team monitors line performance through measurements of critical specs, ensuring and improving product yield. This position will focus on process qualifications and productivity improvements through tool alarm and hold lot reduction. There will also be a focus on ramping technologies to evaluate control strategies and identify areas of improvement.

Requirements

  • Education – At least a sophomore at time of application and actively pursuing a degree in Physics, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field through an accredited degree program during the time of internship.
  • Must have at least an overall 3.0 GPA and be in good academic standing.
  • Language Fluency - English (Written & Verbal)
  • Ability to work at least 40 hours per week during the internship.
  • Interest in semiconductor manufacturing, defect engineering, and data analytics.
  • Experience or coursework in machine learning, image analysis, or programming (Python preferred).
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Demonstrated prior leadership experience in the workplace, school projects, competitions, etc.
  • Project management skills, i.e., the ability to innovate and execute on solutions that matter; the ability to navigate ambiguity.

Responsibilities

  • Drive process qualifications
  • Drive tool alarm reductions.
  • Evaluate controls of upcoming technology ramps and identify areas of improvement.
  • Collaborate with Metrology engineers to accelerate detection and response to manufacturing issues.
  • Participate in project meetings, present findings, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.
