About The Position

embecta is a global diabetes care company that is leveraging its 100-year legacy in insulin delivery to empower people with diabetes to live their best life through innovative solutions, partnerships and the passion of more than 2,000 employees around the globe. The Holdrege, NE plant runs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, producing 2.3 billion medical devices annually. We employ approximately 450 people across all operations. The shift for this role is: 1st shift, 7:00am-3:00pm Monday-Friday. As directed by the Technical Services Manager, the Metrology & Calibration Leader is accountable for supporting new product development and/or product sustaining activities by specializing in measurements, calibration, and qualified analytical equipment. This position also collaborates on measurement & calibration services to other embecta sites.

Requirements

  • BS Degree in Business, Engineering or related subject
  • 5+ years’ experience in Metrology in Manufacturing environment
  • 2+ years’ supervisory experience
  • 2+ years' manufacturing experience
  • Expertise in precision measurement
  • Must be knowledgeable with FDA cGMP and related regulations and guidelines
  • Basic computer keyboard & navigational skills including Microsoft Office

Responsibilities

  • Support the plant on assigned product initiatives with technical expertise and determine associated resource needs to accomplish project goals
  • Lead and supervise hourly Calibration & Metrology Technicians
  • Ensure that applicable facilities, laboratory equipment, utility systems and process equipment are validated, calibrated, and documented
  • Direct day-to-day operations of measurement & calibration services
  • Direct operations and technical services to minimize downtime of plant calibration & measurement equipment
  • Ensuring appropriate training and certification of Metrology personnel on procedures and equipment
  • Forecast project requirements
  • Communicate effectively to management across departments and staff goals, priorities and policy
  • Develop associates to provide cross-functional coverage as needed
