This role is a unique opportunity to help lead the setup, launch, and support of our new refrigeration fabrication and assembly lines. Start-Up & Ongoing Responsibilities Reporting into the Quality Department, the Metrologist is responsible for performing dimensional layouts on internally manufactured and externally supplied parts and assemblies. As part of the plant start up, this role will also support new equipment and process capability studies, programing and operating CMM’s, as well as setting up lab systems such as calibration of tools and equipment. The successful individual will also participate in continuous product and process improvements to exceed the expectations of those we service by providing high quality, innovative, value added, luxury appliance products and services. Quality System Responsibilities: Proficiently uses CMM’s, calipers, micrometers, pin gages, height gages, optical comparators, and other traditional measurement tools and equipment. Performs calibration on manufacturing and metrology tools and equipment Performs process capability studies. Creates and maintains CMM programs in lab and production environments. Works with business unit teams, engineering groups, and project teams to qualify internally manufactured products. Review and update the quality system requirements for new or revised products, including review and measurement of key control characteristics (KCC) identification and documentation. Work closely with engineering to support Factory Acceptance Testing, and trial builds of product throughout the system, gathering feedback for evaluation and analysis. Ongoing Responsibilities: Build a culture that identifies and solves problems related to quality, involving employees at all levels to own it and improve it. Promote a collaborative environment where cross-functional teams align around shared goals and celebrate collective wins. Empower individuals to take initiative, own their work areas, and lead improvement efforts that enhance safety, quality, and efficiency. Lead with integrity - modeling ethical decision-making and fostering a culture of trust and accountability.
