Metrologists are responsible for providing technical solutions and an advanced level of instrument support services to customers of TFS, including external clients, laboratory chemists within the Pace lab system, and departmental coworkers. They also provide our customers with a variety of support services associated with their analytical instrumentation. These services include routine maintenance, operational and performance testing, hardware and software troubleshooting, instrument repair, and personnel training.

Requirements

  • Strong Attention to Detail
  • Two year technical degree or relevant experience required
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Strong mathematical skills including knowledge of calculating uncertainty, significant figures and unit conversion
  • Strong MS Word and MS Excel skills
  • Valid driver’s license

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred

Responsibilities

  • On-site calibration, maintenance, and qualification of customer equipment
  • On-site environmental mapping and qualification services
  • In-house calibration and maintenance of internal calibration masters and customer equipment
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with customers
  • Develop equipment validations, qualifications, calibration methods, and standard operating procedures
  • Operate in a ISO 9001, ISO 17025, and cGMP environment
  • Maintain/repair general lab equipment
  • Travel up to 30%
