About The Position

Arthrex is actively searching for a Metrologist II for our Manufacturing site in Ave Maria, FL. The Metrologist II's main objective is to to write and execute Quality programs on programmable measurement equipment, verify programs with manufacturing and Quality Engineers, and manage CMM programming throughout AMI to and assist with training personnel on programming software that will effectively and profitably meet or exceed the internal and /or external client's expectations by providing superior quality products and service. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 4 years' experience in a manufacturing setting required
  • 2+ years experience with inspection equipment and creating Metrology programs required
  • Intermediate experience with blue print reading and GD&T required
  • Good mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to read blue prints.
  • General knowledge of drafting concepts.
  • General knowledge of Geometric Tolerancing and Dimensioning.
  • Experience with basic inspection equipment and measuring programs .
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Ability to comprehend and apply mathematical principles to the degree required to perform the job based upon job requirements.
  • Ability to comprehend and apply language skills to the degree required to perform the job based upon the job requirements listed above. Ability to verbally communicate ideas and issues effectively to other team members and management. Ability to write and record data and information as required by procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Applies knowledge of GD&T and Metrology principles to program CMM's/vision systems to ensure products meet specifications and drawings.
  • Has intermediate knowledge on all metrology programs, but working towards a full working knowledge.
  • Assist with training and resolving questions from the machine operators and Quality and Manufacturing Engineers as needed.
  • Work with Senior/Principal Metrologist to ensure that all set-ups and programs are accurate.
  • Conduct basic Gage R&R's and routing for approval.
  • Identifies and drives cost reduction projects utilizing Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Maintains compliance and executes all internal policies, procedures and all related paperwork under ISO/FDA guidelines
