About The Position

The Methuen Adoption Center is seeking a Temporary Equine and Farm Animal Welfare Specialist to assist with the care of farm animals due to a recent large intake. This role is crucial in evaluating the physical and behavioral health of animals, implementing training and medical plans, and facilitating adoptions through effective matchmaking between animals and prospective adopters. The position requires a passion for animal welfare and strong interpersonal skills to support the human-animal bond.

Requirements

• 1 year of experience with farm animals.
• 1 year of customer service and/or client care experience.
• 1 year of equine handling experience.

Nice To Haves

• Previous animal handling experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the care of farm animals, evaluating their physical and behavioral health.
• Implement training and medical plans to improve adoptability and quality of life for animals in the shelter.
• Facilitate adoptions by matchmaking animals with prospective adopters using a conversation-based approach.
• Support the human-animal bond through excellent judgment and interpersonal skills.
