About The Position

The Boeing Company has an exciting opportunity for Associate, Mid-Career, or Experienced Methods Process Analysts (Level 2, 3, or 4) to join the Boeing Portland Industrial Engineering team located in Portland, Oregon, USA. Our mission is to have one inclusive team, safely providing the highest value, flight critical machined parts and assemblies for all of BCA programs. The Industrial Engineering (IE) team supports fabrication and assembly for current and next generation aircraft. By joining us, you will partner with other members in the business unit (e.g. Operations, Quality, Engineering, etc) to increase production stability and achieve organizational goals. Our Industrial Engineers will focus on production stability, implementing lean methodologies, assessing and performing to rate readiness requirements, as well as improving quality through root cause analysis. Candidates will be engaging with all manufacturing, engineering, and production-supporting organizations and should be a self-starter as well as a collaborative team player. Our business units allow you to learn all aspects of the Aerospace Manufacturing world allowing you to explore and learn the production build processes from supply chain production readiness through fabrication of raw materials, assembly and installation, and supporting deliveries to our customers around the world. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in business related curriculum such as: Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Business Management, Data Analytics, Marketing, Economics or Math.
  • 1 or more years of experience working in an engineering, manufacturing and/or production environment.
  • 1 or more years proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

Nice To Haves

  • 3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 1 or more years of experience working in a team environment.
  • 1 or more years of experience working with Lean Manufacturing with knowledge of lean principles.
  • 1 or more years of experience interfacing with senior and executive leadership.
  • Experience developing metrics to drive results and business improvements.
  • Experience in Project Management.
  • Proficient in structured problem solving.
  • Strong analytical skills.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts analysis of current and future business environment using established guidelines.
  • Develops forecast, acquisition, and utilization plans to optimize resources in support of company initiatives and program business plans.
  • Develops and maintains basic Business System factory definition to be used for manufacturing planning.
  • Contributes to the development of labor hour estimates for new or revised production and tooling work packages.
  • Monitors performance to established labor hour estimates.
  • Assists in the development of integrated tool and production master schedules by developing tool and position plan/documents, tool downtimes, rate flow plans, #1 flows, and tool sequencing plans to maximize the efficiency of equipment, material and personnel.
  • Assists in the identification and implementation of improvements to processes by analyzing current processes and utilizing established improvement methodologies to maximize the efficiency of equipment and personnel and to support company improvement initiatives.
  • Analyzes changes to approved plans resulting from unplanned events.
  • Assesses the impact of the changes that occur to cost, schedule, resources, and delivery.
  • Develops modifications to existing plans and obtain approval.
  • Participates in negotiations representing Production and Tooling Operations to support schedule commitments or statement of work impacts.
  • Develops, implements, maintains, and statuses complex integrated shop operating plans to maximize the efficiency of equipment and personnel and to reduce inventory and meet cost and schedule commitments.
  • Gathers and analyzes shop performance metrics in order to support a recommend plan of action for Production and Tooling Management.
