About The Position

The Methadone Dispensary Nurse position in Eugene, Oregon, is a critical role focused on dispensing and managing Methadone/Suboxone medication for patients in an Outpatient Medication Assisted Treatment program. The nurse will be responsible for conducting daily assessments, monitoring patient medication, and coordinating care with various healthcare providers. This position offers both part-time and full-time opportunities with a structured work schedule.

Requirements

• Current Oregon RN or LPN license to dispense and manage Methadone/Suboxone medication.
• Desire to work in the field of addiction.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Responsible, respectful, and professional demeanor towards patients.
• Working knowledge of Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily assessments of patients' level of consciousness to dispense medication and monitor for signs of withdrawal.
• Document patient medication administration per DEA guidelines in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
• Collect and document medical history for all new patients and annually for existing patients.
• Administer TB testing and random breathalyzers, and observe and collect Urine Drug Screens.
• Coordinate care with outside agencies for patients with medical and mental health concerns.
