About The Position

The position involves performing basic repairs to various types of domestic meters, which includes soldering, disassembly, re-assembly, and installing index boxes. Responsibilities include testing incoming meters, verifying meter numbers and readings with entries on meter tags, cleaning and sandblasting meters, and sealing meters. The role ensures customer satisfaction through timely and quality services, and involves physical and clerical tasks related to handling meters. The position requires examining meter parts for condition and repair, reconditioning or replacing parts as necessary, and performing all duties necessary to repair all types of domestic meters. Basic math skills are required, including the ability to calculate percentages and accurately read meter indexes. The role also requires physical ability to move meters and lift up to 60 pounds, as well as the use of hand tools and equipment.

Requirements

• High School Diploma required.
• Demonstrated ability to read meter index accurately.
• Ability to recognize different types and sizes of meters.
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
• Proficiency in meter repair and testing.
• Strong organization and planning skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently with little supervision.
• Attention to detail.
