New Jersey Natural Gas (NJNG), a subsidiary of New Jersey Resources, is seeking a Temporary Meter Reader in our Ocean Division to read residential/industrial gas meters utilizing company-provided technology. The above job description is reflective of the primary duties of this position and in no way limits the supervisor from assigning any other duties, responsibilities or initiatives as deemed necessary. This position is deemed safety-sensitive under the U.S. Department of Transportation Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration’s regulations. Among other things, employees in this position are subject to drug and alcohol testing, including pre-employment testing, random testing, reasonable suspicion testing and post-accident testing. PHMSA-required drug tests include testing for marijuana. The use of marijuana, or testing positive for marijuana, is disqualifying and will lead to removal from performing safety-sensitive functions as well as disciplinary action.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years or older
- Must poses a High School diploma or equivalent
- Must be dependable and punctual
- Demonstrate ability to be accurate in work product
- Communication and teamwork skills
- Demonstrate customer focus skills
- Valid driver’s license, and demonstrated safe driving
- Demonstrated ability to work safely
- Self-starter, ability to work independently and deliver results
- ability to bend, squat, crawl, and climb
- ability to lift heavy objects
- ability to use hands
- ability to work in various outdoor weather conditions
- ability to drive a company vehicle
- ability to walk up to twenty miles per day
