About The Position
Veolia North America (VNA) is seeking a Meter Reader to join our team. The position involves reading water utility meters and recording the volume used. The Meter Reader will walk or drive over an established route, operating automated meter-reading equipment or manually reading meters. The role requires climbing ladders to read meters, inspecting meters and connections for damage, defects, and unauthorized connections, and supplying necessary information for meter repair and maintenance. The Meter Reader will also verify readings to locate abnormal consumption, indicate irregularities, and request action by the service department when necessary. Additional responsibilities include moving water meter lids, cleaning out flooded and buried meters, turning service off for non-payment, and performing clean-up tasks for the work area, tools, and equipment. The position requires adherence to established operational, safety, and emergency response procedures, as well as maintaining a schedule.
