About The Position

Amentum is seeking a Meteorology and Oceanography Training Subject Matter Expert (METOC) to join the NIWTG team in Virginia Beach, Virginia. This role involves liaising with leadership and staff to develop and maintain training courses and materials for METOC, ensuring effective learning experiences and alignment with current training requirements.

Requirements

  • Must have an Active Top Secret/SCI US Government Clearance.
  • 10+ years demonstrated expertise in the field of Meteorology.
  • 8 years of Naval Experience with Fleet Weather experience.
  • Familiarity with Navy's curriculum development process (NAVEDTRA 130b series).
  • Experience in curriculum development and conversion of training materials for Interactive Multimedia Instruction (IMI).
  • Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing to produce finished products and prepare presentations.
  • Experience with learning theory and instructional technologies.
  • Ability to read, interpret, organize, and synthesize source material into concise learning products.
  • Demonstrated ability to work successfully individually and within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Oceanography or Meteorology preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Liaison with Commander Naval Information Warfare Training Group (CNIWTG) leadership and staff in the development and maintenance of training courses and materials.
  • Design, write, and develop instructional materials to create effective learning experiences for METOC.
  • Develop learning objectives and goals for new curricula and review existing curricula for METOC.
  • Document, interpret, and analyze current METOC training requirements in collaboration with CNIWTG staff.
  • Review individual and Fleet training to ensure synchronization with established doctrine/Tactics Techniques and Procedures (TTP).
  • Assist in adapting or extending available material or developing new training methodologies for METOC training programs.
  • Conduct research and revise current METOC training courses, preparing appropriate training materials.
  • Conduct initial validity and reliability studies and surveys of METOC training plans.
  • Provide project guidelines and periodic progress reviews.
  • Assist in developing exam materials as needed.
