About The Position
The Meteorologist forecasts weather conditions, produces, and anchors weather reports for all platforms in a manner that is clear, engaging and meaningful to news consumers. This role involves producing and presenting weather reports for all platforms, ensuring that all weather content meets company standards for journalistic integrity and production quality. The Meteorologist will write and deliver weather stories in a clear and concise manner, assist in writing, copy editing, researching and coordinating weather programming and other content, and respond to breaking and/or severe weather events and other urgent newsroom situations as required. Additionally, the Meteorologist will work closely with the weather team to develop comprehensive weather coverage, participate in promotional activities including public appearances, perform special projects and other duties as assigned, write web stories detailing the local forecast on a daily basis, and interact with viewers and users on social media sites.
