About The Position
As a Meteorologist with the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), you will serve as an expert forecaster, primarily responsible for preparing and issuing Fire Weather Outlooks. This role involves providing critical fire weather advice to decision-makers during high-impact weather situations and serving as an Incident Meteorologist (IMET) to deliver Impact-Based Decision Support Services (IDSS) to emergency management officials. The position requires working rotating shifts in a 24/7 environment, including weekends and holidays, and may involve travel to remote locations during severe weather events.
