The Coater will spray coat medical implant devices in preparation for sintering heat treatment, using established procedures, to meet engineering and customer specifications. Hand-coat parts using the spatulation method as required. Inspect coated parts for acceptability with customer requirements. Perform other duties as directed by department Lead. What You’ll Do: Learn to review documentation (Job Travelers) to verify part identity, quantities, and coating (e.g. binder and bead mesh size) requirements.Learn to prepare binder solutions as detailed in applicable Standard Process Instructions (SPIs):Learn to visually inspect parts to ensure that they meet customer requirements.Read, understand, and follow SPIs and MPIs pertaining to the porous coating of medical implant devices.Inspect documents for previously completed operation sign off and verify part counts before beginning any manufacturing operation. If discrepancies are found notify your Team Leader.Perform required maintenance checks of equipment before beginning any manufacturing operation. If problems are found notify your Team Leader.Prior to use, ensure measuring equipment has been calibrated, is not beyond calibration date, and is in good working condition.Follow established protocol to maintain ID & traceability of product and documentation. Notify your supervisor immediately if ID is questionable.Reference applicable drawings, specifications, and Manufacturing Process Instructions before beginning any manufacturing operation.Follow department Standard Process Instructions.
