What are we looking for? The Laboratory Technician is responsible for materials testing processes, handling and preparing samples, and providing written analysis in a laboratory environment. The ideal candidate for the Laboratory Technician role will have a desire to work in learning environment, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work independently and/or in a team setting. What you'll do: The Laboratory Technician will report to the Laboratory Manager and is responsible for supporting lab operations on a day-to-day basis This position outline is a general guideline and does not represent all encompassing details. Requirements

  • High school Diploma or GED required
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • Technical writing
  • Analytical thinking skills

Nice To Haves

  • Laboratory sample preperation experience is preferred
  • Experience operating in a metallurgy laboratory is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Receipt samples, Log in and sorting samples
  • Crushing and splitting samples
  • Completes pulverization sample preparation
  • Performs test charges for testing
  • Conducts bottle roll testing on samples
  • Utilizes column testing techniques
  • Documents results of testing and investigations in technical reports
  • Other duties as assigned
